The Truth No One Told You About Loving Yourself.

“You have been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.”— Louise Hay

There’s a pattern I’ve seen over and over in my own life and in the lives of the people I work with:

Love becomes confusing, painful, or exhausting the moment we disconnect from ourselves.

Most of us think our relationship struggles come from the other person — their actions, their reactions, their inability to show up the way we want. But when you slow down and get honest, you’ll notice something deeper happening:

We speak to ourselves in ways we would never speak to someone we love… and then we expect to feel loved.

When your inner dialogue is filled with self-judgment, pressure, comparison, or blame, your heart closes. Not because you’re wrong — but because you’re carrying parts of yourself that haven’t been seen, held, or loved yet.

And here’s the part many people miss:

Your relationship with yourself is the blueprint for every relationship you build.

If you’re hard on yourself, you’ll automatically be hard on others.
If you don’t trust yourself, you’ll struggle to trust anyone else.
If you’re not kind to yourself, love will always feel like something you’re chasing.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence.
Presence with what you’re saying to yourself.
Presence with the energy you’re creating.
Presence with the truth you are shaping through your words.

Because your word isn’t just language — it’s creation.

When you constantly tell yourself you’re not enough, unlovable, too much, or too little, life mirrors that back to you. Not as punishment, but as a reflection of what’s happening inside.

But the moment you begin treating yourself with the same gentleness you offer others, something powerful shifts:

  • You stop looking for love outside of yourself.
  • You stop destroying the love that’s already here.
  • You start creating from truth instead of fear.

Here’s the takeaway I want you to sit with today:

The way you speak to yourself is shaping your entire experience of love.

So give yourself a moment.
Take a breath.
Listen to the voice inside.

Ask yourself:
If I loved myself unconditionally today, how would I speak to me? How would I respond to me? How would I show up for me?

Start there — and your relationships will begin to transform from the inside out.

Family constellations kept my marriage together when it was about to fall apart. After 2013 something shifted and I began to sort through my past with memories and feelings surfacing that I had ignored and buried for many years. I became aware of ancestral trauma and emotional patterns that were suddenly tearing on all of my relationships. During the constellations these issues, events, and emotions were shown, sorted out, and healed. And there was a lot. From events of war and holocaust to leaving my home country, I was able to heal and clear the impact and because of it feel light and free. -YM
